PAW Calendar Cat of the Month, Teddy
There are two types of cats that are the most challenging to photograph: the scaredy cat who would rather hide under the bed than face my daunting camera, or the overly friendly cat I can’t pry out of my lap. Teddy, nicknamed “The Maniac” by his human mom, was definitely the latter! He was so friendly and inquisitive that I spent much of the session running from him. His “relaxed” photos were the calculated work of me and his mom distracting him quickly with a treat, gently pressing him into a seated position, and a few quick snaps of the camera! Teddy has such a great, outgoing personality :)
About this project: In the summer of 2017 I had the honour of photographing 12 adorable cats who once belonged to the Lethbridge PAW Society but who now have comfortable, happy homes to call their own. Each of these cats were featured in PAW’s 2018 calendar, showing off the good that comes from people graciously donating to the society and providing foster homes for the abandoned cats.
About PAW Society: PAW (People for Animal Welfare) is based in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and has been arranging the adoption of homeless cats since 2000. It is a non-profit society in the Province of Alberta and a Registered Canadian Charity.
