PAW Calendar Cat of the Month, Baloo
I was really excited to photograph Baloo for the calendar after following his journey for many years! He was part of the second wave of cats that were displaced after the Last Chance Cat Ranch fire. I was so taken by him that I would have adopted him back then if we were allowed cats at our rental!
A few years later he popped up again when we did our Windy City Canine Rescue Halloween fundraiser at Pet Valu. He was now under the care of the PAW Society and being featured at the pet store. We loved hanging out with him all day! Only a couple months after that he found his forever home and he is so happy there, not to mention completely spoiled. Although he’s mellowed out a bit (I first met him when he was under a year old), this tiny black kitty is still super friendly, confident, and loving.
About this project: In the summer of 2016 I had the honor of photographing 14 adorable cats who once belonged to the Lethbridge PAW Society but who now have comfortable, happy homes to call their own. Each of these cats were featured in PAW’s 2017 calendar, showing off the good that comes from people graciously donating to the society and providing foster homes for the abandoned cats.
Baloo was SOOOO spoiled during his photoshoot! We bribed him the whole way through with treats.
Yum! He needed to clean the treats off his lips for his next photo.
At the end he got to enjoy string hunting :)
